Young woman with terminal lung cancer lists 5 symptoms she ignored

A journey of hope and awareness

Linda’s story has gained prominence on social media, where she shares updates on her condition and warns others about the importance of paying attention to the body’s signals. Her family has also organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to cover the high costs of treatment. The goal is to raise $100,000.

An alarming panorama of lung cancer

Linda’s case reflects a global problem. Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in men and women in Brazil, according to the National Cancer Institute (Inca), responsible for about 13% of all new diagnoses. Although smoking is the main risk factor, exposure to pollution, recurrent lung infections and genetic predisposition are also relevant causes.

It is estimated that about 80% of cases could be prevented, mainly by reducing tobacco consumption. However, the reality is that early diagnosis continues to be the main ally in increasing the chances of a cure.
