Ana Clara was hit in the back and, unfortunately, did not survive the severity of her injuries, dying at the scene.
The friend who was with Ana Clara managed to escape the attack, despite being injured, and was taken to a health unit in the city. The tragedy was even more painful because the victim was the daughter of Ailton Silva, a well-known radio host in the region, who expressed his pain on social media. In a moving statement, he lamented the cruelty of the crime and the irreparable loss of his daughter, saying: “What a cruel world.”
The Military Police were called immediately after the incident and conducted an intensive search for the suspects, who fled shortly after committing the crime. To date, none of those responsible have been identified or arrested. Ana Clara’s body was sent to the Instituto Médico Legal (IML) in Arapiraca, where it underwent an autopsy. The lack of concrete answers has increased the anguish and feeling of insecurity among residents. The violence of this act deeply moved the population of Maravilha, generating a wave of commotion and protests for justice.
