Celine Casey went to great lengths to protect her daughter, Vienna, born in April 2021 in the UK with a birthmark between her eyebrows. Known as congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN), the mark posed no health risks, but Celine worried about its emotional impact as Vienna grew older.
After noticing people staring at Vienna, Celine decided to have the birthmark removed. The NHS declined to perform the surgery, calling it cosmetic, so Celine launched a fundraiser. In 24 hours, supporters donated $52,000, though they still needed an additional $27,000 due to rising hospital costs.
At two years old, Vienna’s birthmark is gone, leaving a small scar. Celine continues to share updates, grateful that Vienna is healthy and no longer needs more surgeries.
Wishing Vienna a bright future—feel free to share her story!
