For the second consecutive night, firefighters will be toiling through the night to combat the blazes in Los Angeles.

These wildfires rank among the most devastating in the region’s history.

The wildfires in the area are among the most catastrophic on record, having already claimed five lives and razed thousands of structures stretching from the Pacific coast to Pasadena. Reports indicate that the winds in the region are expected to be relatively calmer today, presenting firefighters with an opportunity to gain control over the fires that have hitherto spread across the land with little restraint.

The most recent fire ignited on Wednesday in the Hollywood Hills, which is nearer to the heart of Los Angeles and its vibrant entertainment industry. This fire endangers several of the city’s most renowned landmarks, and only time will reveal the full extent of the damage. Currently, Bass is back in the city and is lending assistance as part of the city’s efforts to support those who have been evacuated.
