L.A. Residents Are Outraged Over Mayor Karen Bass’s Africa Trip Amid Wildfires

In the midst of the most severe wildfires ever witnessed in Los Angeles, a bombshell revelation has left many residents astounded. Their mayor, Karen Bass, was not present in the city during the initial stages of the crisis. The wildfires erupted on January 7, and Bass was en route back from a trip to Ghana on January 8.

Once the news spread that Bass was absent while Los Angeles was grappling with a major catastrophe, numerous individuals were eager to uncover the reason behind her visit to Ghana.

The purpose of Karen Bass’s visit to Ghana was to be part of a delegation commemorating the inauguration of Ghana’s President John Mahama and to engage with the nation’s first female vice president, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. During a press briefing on January 8, Celine Cordero, Bass’s deputy chief of staff, stated that the mayor would be back in the city “soon.”
