Kid Rock Walks Off Stage, Blaming Audience Behavior

The party was held in honor of Bon Jovi’s keyboardist, who turned 63 on February 7, 2025, at Nashville’s JBJ venue, which is owned by Jon Bon Jovi.

Kid Rock made a surprise appearance and was initially greeted with warm applause as he began singing ‘Proud Mary’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival, according to fan videos shared online.

Things seemed fine at first, but just two minutes into the performance, Rock stopped singing and signaled his band to stop playing too. He then asked the crowd to clap and demonstrated the way he wanted them to do it.

“F— them. F— them. Hey, hey, stop,” he repeated, as seen in the videos. “If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go.”

The crowd started clapping as he requested, but after a minute, he stopped again and said, “You know what, f— y’all. You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone,” before abruptly leaving the stage.

In the video, Bryan could be seen making confused hand gestures and then speaking to another bandmate as Kid Rock stormed off.

It didn’t seem to have dampened the mood for David Bryan, though, as he posted a video of the event on Instagram with the caption, “THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES! Rocking at @jbjsnash last night with @bigkennytv!”
