On Friday, Feb. 7, 76-year-old Kathy Bates won the Best Actress in a Drama Series award at the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards for her role in the CBS series “Matlock”. When her name was called, she was visibly shocked, her eyes widening, and she let out a couple of curses, saying “f—” twice before making her way to the stage.

In her acceptance speech, Bates first acknowledged that she “really didn’t think this was going to happen”. She then thanked everyone who helped her achieve the award, highlighting the love and vast experience on the set, from those rolling the dolly, working the camera, to the costumers and others, saying it felt like a miracle to work there.
