Chris Carmack revealed that his wife, Erin Slaver, put her foot down to prevent him from going bald on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ just days before their wedding.
Chris shared with Distractify that, despite both he and his wife being individuals with a creative streak, she had her boundaries when it came to the sacrifices he was willing to make for his career. He recounted that during the filming of the Grey’s Anatomy episode where his character was slated to shave his head, Link was initially intended to go completely bald in a show of solidarity with a young cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy and losing his hair.
While Chris was game for the challenge, he mentioned that the Grey’s production team wisely advised him to consult Erin. And Erin was having none of it. She firmly refused to let her soon-to-be husband walk down the aisle sporting a buzz cut.
“Erin said, ‘Absolutely not, you WILL NOT SHAVE YOUR HEAD BEFORE OUR WEDDING!’ He recalled her words vividly. “I will not have pictures of you with a shaved head at our wedding.”
Chris stated that he ultimately informed the Grey’s producers that he couldn’t go through with the full shave, and they were understanding. Eventually, they settled on the now-iconic haircut that fans have come to associate with Link.
