A New Ray of Hope

Over the past several months, researchers have been striving to reintroduce these marsupials into the Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary, an area where they had previously vanished.
Now, with the recent discovery of baby marsupials, it’s evident that the researchers have achieved success. It seems that the animals are flourishing there and have no difficulties with reproduction.
“Through regular monitoring, we can see that the quolls are faring well at the sanctuary, and coming across the first pouch young is a positive indication that they have adapted to the new environment,” said Georgina Anderson, a senior field ecologist at the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC).
