Apparently, not everyone is content with the sign. Some individuals believe it’s unjust that only police officers are accorded this special privilege. They argue that ambulance drivers, healthcare professionals, and those working in other emergency services should also be extended similar offers.
A Police Officer’s Perspective
After facing numerous negative remarks, one police officer felt compelled to respond. The officer stated, “This is a positive post, but some of you fail to see the broader context. As an officer, I never enter any establishment anticipating or desiring anything for free, not even a discount, whether I’m in uniform or not. And I can assure you that other officers share the same sentiment. We don’t appreciate’special treatment’. The truth is that KFC is simply recognizing law enforcement, which is why this was posted. And to those who suggest that other first responders should also be acknowledged, my answer is a resounding ABSOLUTELY.”
In conclusion, while the KFC’s intention was to show appreciation to the police, it has inadvertently opened up a wider discussion about the recognition and rewards of different essential service providers in our society.
