On Tuesday, January 14, a heated exchange took place between Republican Rep. Nancy Mace and Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett during a House Oversight Committee meeting in Washington D.C.
The argument erupted when Crockett, who represents Texas, put forward an amendment aiming to reinstate the previously disbanded Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.

As reported by The New Republic, Crockett introduced her amendment shortly after the House of Representatives voted to pass H.R. 28, known as “The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” which bars biological males from competing against biological females in women’s sports.
