Now, Amber is barely recognizable compared to how she used to look like the typical blonde girl-next-door. Besides tattooing almost every inch of her exposed skin and her eyeballs, she also had a procedure to give herself a forked tongue.
She has spent $120,000 on body modifications in total, with $50,000 on around 600 tattoos and $70,000 on surgical procedures.
Her unconventional appearance might shock some people, yet Amber believes that her transformation has been crucial in saving her from a life of depression and possible suicide. She said, “I was so catatonically depressed, suicidal and was a walking dead girl. I was numb. I hated myself majority of the time – that hatred ran deep. It tormented me. Now, I’ve totally transformed myself into someone I’m proud of being. I’m a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants and who she is.”
