Tragedy struck on Josiah Toleafoa’s third birthday when the young boy was fatally hit by a car. Despite paramedics’ efforts, Josiah passed away at Rady Children’s Hospital, leaving his family heartbroken.
The 36-year-old driver, who remained at the scene, was not under the influence, but the cause of the accident is still unclear.
Josiah’s family launched a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses, with his aunt writing, “Josiah’s smile and loving heart brought joy to everyone. Though his time was short, he touched so many lives.”
Support has poured in, including $2,000 donations from both Play City’s owner and the landlord.
