According to a November 2024 report by Just Jared, Stone was spotted with a shaved head during an after-party for “Saturday Night Live (SNL)” at L’ Avenue at Saks in New York City. Partygoers observed that she entered the gathering wearing a bucket hat and later whipped it off to reveal her drastically shortened hairdo. In the ensuing weeks, she was seen out and about in public, donning wigs to conceal her shaved head, whether it was during excursions in SoHo or at the New York Film Festival.
Rumors are rife that Stone shaved her head in preparation for her forthcoming role in Focus Features’ “Bugonia,” a sci-fi comedy film helmed by six-time Academy Award nominee Yorgos Lanthimos. In the movie, she stars alongside Jesse Plemons. The film is an English-language adaptation of the 2003 South Korean movie “Save the Green Planet!” Stone portrays a high-powered CEO who finds herself the target of two men consumed by conspiracy theories, convinced that she’s an alien plotting to annihilate Earth.
