Combs, 55, is currently in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied these allegations.
The lawsuit first claims that Burgess alleged Combs had videos showing him “involved in the sexual assault of celebrities and minors.” Burgess and Mitchell are said to have repeated these claims to several news outlets, including NewsNation.
Combs’ attorneys argue that since the alleged tapes don’t exist, Mitchell and Burgess’ statements about possessing such footage “were either knowingly blatant falsehoods or recklessly false statements.”
